The Cultural Precinct is a building complex which incorporates the heritage listed Town Hall, The Civic cinema/theatre, Smithurst Theatre, Creative Arts Gallery, the Meeting Room, and the Studio Room. The Foyer is an artist run gallery and operated by the Visual Arts Working Group. The Cultural Precinct now also boasts the new Visitor Information Centre.
The Civic Centre is the focal point for the Shire's cultural activities. Gunnedah Shire Council's Cultural Development team endeavours to reflect and enhance the values of the Gunnedah community by coordinating a range of opportunities for cultural exchange within the Cultural Precinct. The Creative Arts Gallery includes a monthly program of exhibitions. The Foyer Gallery highlights the talents of local artists.
The Cultural Precinct's various venues are available for cultural, educational, professional, community gatherings, and commercial purposes.
