The Heritage Sculptures at Pensioners Hill Lookout are a group of stones which were erected by the Rotary Club of Gunnedah West with the project funded by BHP Billiton. The sculptures have been created by Carl Merten and Joan Relke to illustrate some aspects of Gunnedah's rich cultural heritage.
There are four stones which depict a coal miner, pioneer women, agriculture, and the Red Chief - each with their own story to tell. The Rainbow Serpent is spread along the back of these rocks, connecting them all, telling its own story along the way.
